Sp33clad you may remember married the sister of Gary ,SOCCER-mad Heide-marie McAlister who thought nothing of travelling 6,000 miles to watch Ossett Town FC's game on Saturday. DID SP33CLAD comfort After the devastated soccer POTENTIAL LEG END was dropped from the Ossett Town team a while back . Boardman was supposed to have announced his resignation at a possible future as a potential Scotland or even England captain following his split with wife Julie and was then axed from the Ossett Town squad by a new coach .
And among the first people Boardman called was supposed have called was his friend SP33CLAD, who in the past has flown (back from America..with wife Hiedi) to to watch him play for Ossett Town.
Boardman alledgedly says, "When he got to America he phoned me. He's a great guy to be able to speak to because he is a very positive-minded person. It is good to have people around you at that point. He talked about everything I had done in football, about my goals I score and the goals I set up and the goals I have not reached yet. He said I was a great player, that I played for Ossett Town, I've got a healthy family.
"He's a great example of someone who stays positive through everything. And that's how I started to get over what had happened with the Ossett Town news. I got over it that way, with friends around me."

As I its suggested several times from various sources Manchester United were the lowest net spenders in last summers transfer window, which many fans are linking directly to the Glazer family takeover, which has left the club with the biggest debt in this history of world football - currently the debt stands at around £600m and the figure is rising fast.
The January transfer window opens on Monday every year and of course United have been linked strongly to Owen Hargreaves - whether United will be able to prize away the England star from Bayern Munich next month remains to be seen, one thing is for certain United have done that much carping about this transfer via the media that the German club will demand a very high price and will United be able to find that kind of money given the dreadful debt situation?
The latest news is that United have been linked to a former non-league football centre half.
as apparently boss sir Alex Ferguson wants CRAIG BOARDMAN formerly of OSSETT TOWN the non-league side - dubbed "the TITUS BRAMBLE of non-league". I haven't seen this player in action and a few non-league players have made it to the very top of the English game, so it would be wrong to pre-judge this lad, but while United are rummaging in the bargain basement for new players Chelsea are talking about spending another £20m on Man City's Micah Richards - the gulf between Chelsea's spending power and United is so large it is difficult to even quantify, the Blues are in fact on other planet in that respect.
IF United only sign BOARDMAN (ALONG WITH HENRICK LARSSON) this January, it wont be enough and it wont convince many United fans about the clubs ability to strengthen the team under the Glazer regime. The reds need Hargreaves and another striker - if it doesn't happen next month it will be a missed opportunity and one which the club could live to regret in the remaining months of this season.

JOSE MOURINHO has yet to be persuaded by his senior players that CRAIG BOARDMAN is good enough to play for Chelsea.
Blues boss Mourinho has been monitoring the Former Ossett Town defender for years — and as supposedly tried to buy him for the last 6 summers.
Ossett Town refused Porto’s £6k offer but it was Mourinho’s England international Shaun Wright-Phillips (The Legend of Boardman was still alive during SWP’S Forest stint) who told him the former Forest (then 18-year-old) was worth having at any price — now put at a monster £18k.
While he may have waited until the summer to buy him, the injury to John Terry and his team’s defensive frailty has forced the issue.
For Boardman, the prospect of becoming an instant first-choice for the champions and making his name at Stamford Bridge could be too great a temptation to resist.
His family and advisors (Father George) have been wary of Chelsea’s interest, having seen Shaun Wright-Phillips take the same path via Forest only to end up on the bench.
But its been suggested that Mourinho has made it clear Boardman could deputise for Terry in central defence and then solve his problem right-back position for the rest of the season.
Former Chelsea favourite Pat Nevin is supposedly reckoned it is the ideal solution to the club’s defensive deficiencies which have seen them ship six goals in their past three league matches
“It’s a move which suits everyone right now given Chelsea’s problems, Richards’ ambition and I imagine that Ossett Town would probably need the money to add to their squad.”
Part of the allure for Boardman could be that ,maybe it is the promise he will be groomed as a central defender to become a long-term partner for Terry.
Playing alongside the England captain, still only 26, will surely see him become a regular for his country (England or Scotland )far quicker than he might imagine. Nevin added: “England have a glut of quality central defenders but playing alongside Terry for Chelsea could be beneficial for Boardman,
“International managers are very keen on good partnerships all the way through the centre of a team.
“You have less time to work with players at international level so anyone who has an understanding with another player at club level has an instant advantage.”

CRAIG BOARDMAN has admitted IN THE PAST that the prospect of joining Manchester United at a crucial stage of the season would be too good a chance to turn down.
The Barnsley born potential hero, 36, would look foward to training with his new potential team-mates for the first time soon after rumours United manager Sir Alex Ferguson may strike a shock, short-term deal with Father George Boardman for the defender to spend the winter at Old Trafford.
But the player – who will be available from Jan 2nd until his return to READING METERS on March 12th – insisted he couldn’t resist the opportunity to join United’s double assault on the Premiership and the Champions League if he was asked
“But I’m not just here to enjoy myself. I obviously understand how important all of this is so there’s no question it’s an important time and I’m fully aware of that.”
BOARDMAN , who will wear the number 69 shirt, COULD make his debut in the FA Cup third round against Aston Villa on Jan 7 but is confident he COULD slot in quickly to his new surroundings.

With just 48 hours left before Boardman becomes free to speak to other clubs, Real have decided to act.
The Spanish giants' sporting director Predrag Mijatovic Must surley WANT to speak to the EX Ossett Town captain after training tomorrow about extending his contract .
