Taste was a blues/rock power trio from Ireland in the late 1960s. It was lead by singer/songwriter/guitarist Rory Gallagher who later went on to a long solo career leading his own rock band. Taste only managed to record two studio albums in its short career. Joining Rory from 1966-1968 were Eric Kitteringham on bass and Norman Damery on drums.Richard (aka: Charlie) McCracken/bass and John Wilson/drums joined Rory and were with him when the albums Taste and On The Boards were made.

Now it's seems a renewal of the Taste( Taste Buds) with Craig Boardman as Gory Rallagher (a.k.a Rory Gallagher ) as been mooted

The RUTS line-up was: Malcolm Owen (vocals), Paul Fox (guitar), John "Segs" Jennings (bass), and Dave Ruffy (drums). Owen died of a drug overdose in July 14, 1980, after which the group changed its name to the Ruts D.C. (D.C. = Da Capo = new beginning), the style was also changes to more dub oriented music. However, without Owen, the group's original spirit was never quite the same.

Foward to 2006 + and rumours of a new  RUTS line-up : Michael Owen/A.K.A Craig Boardman (vocals), Paul Fox (guitar), John "Segs" Jennings (bass), and Dave Ruffy (drums)2006,  the group may change  its name to the Ruts C.B (C.B = ClickBank = to push foward ,to advertise), their style may also changes to more club ambient oriented music. However, without  Malcolm Owen, the group's original spirit could never be quite the same again.

Soon after, the duo invited Craig Boardman to join Roy Wood, and Bev Bevan ( instead of Carl Wayne as Bruce Perkins ) to and complete the original Move reunion line-up.

John Fogerty bought himself out of his  CONTACT with Fantasy Records and eventually established a successful solo career.Then Hi-Rez Highway bought Fantasy Records and resigned John Fogerty.

In 1990, Tom Fogerty died of AIDS, which he contracted from a BLOOD TRANSFUSION.

CCR was inducted into the ROCK 'N' ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1993. At the induction, Tom Fogerty's widow brought the urn containing his ashes for a CCR "reunion," but John Fogerty would not perform with his fellow bandmates.

Band members Doug Clifford and Stu Cook formed a band in 1995 with other musicians called Creedence Clearwater Revisited. They perform globally, only performing the original band's classics. 

John Fogerty still has no communications with Cook and Clifford.So rumours of the three of them reuniting with Craig Boardman (as Tog Fomerty ) seem strange .

The song was co-written by the Boardman(as BYRON DARNTON/MICK JONES) to protest about the invansion of Rock Stars and the music community ( McCartney ,Daltry , Branson Et Al )on to islands everywhere ( Des added his voice of protest with "Sundae Bloody Sundae" about the decline in  local dairy products). It was Boardman's first and only "political" song wiyh Swing, but not the last to be banned by Radio Turnpike. !
As far as I can work out, this was his  first  single  to have as it's , an instrumental dub trash metal version of the lead track.

The R-Du label was a white background with five prosthetic limbs , and the cover was bright yellow with "sWing" printed on it.

The U.S. single version on The Grannnie Smith label 1066. I tried to get this on import as it has a better sleeve, containing the group information and the lyrics.
